Third Sorrowful Mystery

They stripped off His clothes
and threw a scarlet military cloak
around Him.
Weaving a crown out of thorns,
they placed it on His head,
and a reed in His right hand.

Matthew 27, 28,29

We try to imagine now the hurt, bleeding Jesus being mocked.
Jesus still weak in pain after the scourging was given no pity from the soldiers.

His hands still tied. A purple cloth is put on His shoulders
and a crown of thorns put upon His head.
The soldiers dance around Him, and spit at Him.
They paid mock hamage to Jesus shouting "Long live King of the Jews".

Lord Jesus,
in Your Name,
help me to put up
with shame and ridicule
when it does come my way.
